The Three Best Longboards We’ve Ever Tried
There comes a time that anyone that writes a review site will have to put out a top ten list. It is practically inevitable in today’s media. And so after much wrangling from our editors and correspondents, we took a vote and instead of coming up with ten of the best longboards that we have ever tried in our lives, we only managed to cough up around three of the most exceptional boards that have totally blown us away.
Yes, you may not agree with what we think but hey, everyone’s own setup is better than everyone else, right? So just bear with us for the moment and check out our small list (we promise that next time we will try to come up with a TOP TEN!) and let us know what you think about what we think!
Here we go, in no particular order of awesomeness…
1. Loaded Vanguard
A very simple board when you first set your eyes on it. And then you catch the slight arch on the board. The Vanguard has a very unique feel to it when you take it for a ride for the first time. The very special design that has been put into this board creates very innovative riding styles that no other board can provide. Do what you can with it and test your limits. This board will cooperate all the way.
Loaded Longboards really pushed the envelope on this one. A no gimmik, no nonsense board that is truly impressive.
2. Arbor Axis Koa Longboard
Arbor has pretty much established itself as a great longboard company and the Axis Koa is a pretty legit example of the quality of their boards. Go downhill really fast. This board just gives you that touch of flexibility that lets you carve it out a bit despite the insane downhill speed.
And we just love the underbelly of this beast. Look at that art. Even if you’re not riding it, you still look cool.

3. Original Carbon Apex 37
A future classic from a great longboard maker, the Original Carbon Apex 37 is probably just a step or two below futuristic.
Original Longboards incorporates advanced composite technology to give you what is probably one of the strongest boards in the market today. It did not crack or chip no matter how much pressure we put on it but this thing just gave us enough flexibility to keep the board from touching the ground.
And there you have it. The three longboards that have blown our hearts and minds away. Maybe next month or two months from now, we will come out with a new update on this list. We are always trying out new boards and these longboard makers continue to also push the envelope on design and innovation.
